Lake Placid Marathon & Half Marathon Course
The Lake Placid Marathon and Half Marathon course is a beautiful course set in the heart of the Adirondacks. You’ll find yourself racing past historic Olympic sites including the ski jumps, 400 meter outdoor speed skating oval, and the 1980 Arena, home of the “Miracle On Ice”.
The Half Marathon is a single loop out and back while the Marathon is a double out and back. The course is a combination of flat, rolling and some hills with an elevation gain of 1,393 feet for the full marathon. Runners enjoy mountain views, open areas, shaded areas, a class III trout stream and beautiful Mirror Lake along the way. Twelve well stocked aid stations are available for the Half Marathon; 26 for the Marathon. The event offers a generous six (6) hour course limit for each race.
